Serendipity – today I talked to a friend about how difficult it is to blog when you deal with words and thoughts. Every post becomes a tough piece of writing and reflection. So this was our conclusion: start to blog ‘in private’, a bit like writing letters to your best friends, and see what happens.

Kinderen van 6 tot 10 jaar worden uitgenodigd om een herinnering te vertellen op de sofa van het schrijverskabinet, iets wat ze meemaakten en niet zo gauw zullen vergeten, omdat het zo vreselijk mooi, eng, leuk of droevig was.
Ze kiezen een eigen personage, een titel, en een lettertype. An Mertens aka Ana Foor vertaalt de herinnering naar een fictief verhaal. Terwijl de katernen uit de printer rollen, knutselen de kindervertellers hun cover in elkaar in het atelier o.l.v. Anne Van Wichelen aka Anne Wiel. Ze stikken eigenhandig de katernen in hun cover, lezen elkaar hun verhalen voor en gaan naar huis in bezit van hun eigen kleine ‘roman’.
Het resultaat is een bundel authentieke kinderverhalen.

CIAO: writing a novel as a ‘distributed practise’
CIAO of het schrijven van een gedistribueerde roman
CIAO is a story that will exist as a novel in print and a digital narrative. The work-in-progress was part of the exhibition Place@Space until 25th May in Z33 in Hasselt.
CIAO is een verhaal dat zal bestaan als roman en als digitale vertelling. Het work-in-progress maakte deel uit van de tentoonstelling NowHere Place@Space, van 15 maart tot 25 mei 2008 in Z33 in Hasselt.
I found a first ‘historical overview‘ about webcomics.
The word ‘historical’ is dressed with quite a refreshing significance here. The overview comments on webcomics over the last ten years, which is logical.

Today I participated in the online reading session organised by Sönke Hallman and Falke Pisano, exploring the idea of a #collective textual performance#, approaching the text by #reading with the intention that the text becomes a place#.
After reading the excerpts, we all started to invest the ‘text-place’, straight onto the wiki, while we shared our impressions by chat. From straight Courier 11 laps-of-texts, we tried to turn them into inhabited decorated ‘text-places’. It is a good way to ‘live’ a text.
